It started around 11:05 PM CDT of Saturday were most people are already asleep but fortunately there were no casualties reported according to the local emergency officers.
The epicenter was located 2 miles North of Irving Dallas but was felt as far as 20 miles away and was followed four minutes after by a series of aftershocks recording 3.1 magnitude in the Richter scale.
The epicenter was determined near the Dallas-Fort Worth airport but no flights was interrupted.
A gas leaked was also reported and local officials are checking up on the report for the safety of the community.
Texans are advise to be calm and vigilant since experts expect more aftershocks to come since the area is frequently visited by earthquakes.
