Texan Women Gets Fifty For Killing her Husband

Texas NewsA woman from Northern Texas will be receiving a verdict of 50 years for killing her soon to be divorced husband.

Vera Elizabeth Guthrie-Nail admitted Wednesday in McKinney the plot to perform capital murder.

Vera Guthrie-Nail is being arraigned on charges of capital murder and a plot to commit capital murder.

She will be receiving a sentence of life imprisonment without parole if proven guilty.

This case is about  the death of Craig Nail at the Frisco home, the partner’s former residence. Nails girlfriend, Therisa Johnson was also hurt. The Nails were going to file a divorce and had a problem about who will be their daughter’s main guardian.


The gunmen Mark Lyle Bell admitted killing Nail last year to capital murder. The verdict granted upon him was life in prison without the possibility of parole.

The plea deal of Guthrie-Nail's came out when Bell attested in her trial.

Her is the impact statement of Nail’s girlfriend Therisa Johnson.

“He’s not here anymore because of what you did,” Johnson told Guthrie-Nail. “I just don’t know how you could do something so evil and so mean-spirited.”

Nails daughter was only 16 when he was killed. She plays in the marching band and a straight A student. Her father was teaching her to drive a car during that time and wanted to become a foreign exchange student and searching for good colleges.

Nails daughter wrote, “My whole life turned upside down”. “I stopped being me,” She dropped from school and attempted suicide.
